Handmade Urban Kilts
Alt Kilt Custom Urban Handmade Kilts
You guys have seen Willie and I in photos, in person, at shows and conventions…we stand out. We stand out intentionally. At FDIC and Firehouse Expo this year we donned leather helmets, leather boots, and our Kilts. We headed out in style for one reason…so that you would not forget us. It worked. The amount of photos, comments, even jeers ensured us we had made a mark and we would be remembered. That was our marketing and advertising at work. I assure you one thing, the kilt is what made our attire. Without it, we wouldn’t have stood out. Alt Kilt is who made that possible.
Read below about Alt Kilt, who they are, what they make, and why you should get your kilt today!
I first heard aboutAlt Kilt from my friends MotorCop and Happy Medic. I believe they both had kilts, but then exploited that fact when September came around last year. All they would talk about was Kilted to Kick Cancer. I wanted to know more and had to see these kilts!
Kilted to Kick Cancer is similar to Alt Kilt’s very own Kilted for Kids’ Cancer. I recommend you take a minute and check out that last link for the story behind the Kilts at Alt Kilt. A story very close to home with childhood cancer. Because of the experience they had as a young family, Alt Kilt is giving back.
First and foremost, we want to thank our customers who have made Alt.Kilt what it is today. For the rest of the month of September, we are giving away our kid’s kilts for free. Each one will have our Kilted for Kids’ Cancer screen printed small on the front apron. Shipping will be added to each free kilt order. As an option, we are also collecting donations for Give Kids The World so you have the choice to write in a donation amount with your order of a kid’s kilt – there is *NO* requirement to donate. Either way, the kilts are free for all kids until the end of September.
When the kilt showed up on my doorstep it was packaged all nice and neat with a bow tied around it. I was very excited to see how I would look in a kilt. Let’s just say that many people might be frightened to wear a kilt, I thought it was exhilarating. Little did I know that I would spend so much time wearing my kilt…in public!
Alt Kilt makes amazing kilts. Jeannie, who runs the shop at Alt Kilt, made our experience with getting our kilt very personal. We appreciated the time and dedication she put into her work and her brand. We didn’t need to worry about anything. They specialize in steampunk kilts and woman’s mini skirts, but I am certain she can make anything you might want. Read more about Jeannie here.
My kilt was made with a thick grey denim, the buttons are securely sewn on, and the pockets on the right side give plenty of storage for whatever you want. A flask will fit in the bottom pocket just fine…so I hear.
The other fabrics to choose from are corduroy, vinyl, faux leather, micro-suede, wool, leather, and cotton. Alt Kilt offers a full range of accessories for your kilt. From a bandoleer, to belts, to extra pockets they can set you up. Alt Kilt is also a Brotherhood of the Kilt merchant.
The kilt is so comfortable, we did a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb in them! I can see myself wearing this kilt a lot in the future.
I recommend Alt Kilt to anyone looking for a custom made kilt that makes them stand out from the rest!
About Alt Kilt:
Since its conception in early 2006, Alt.Kilt has made a point of being personal. Each kilt I sell is made by me from start to finish – from the pre-washing of the fabric to hand sewing the buttons. From our humble beginnings in Madison, WI, I have spent time and effort to create a handsome product that fulfills the needs and wants of our worldwide customer base. We listen to feedback and spend countless hours perfecting our kilts.
You can’t tell me we don’t look great in these Alt Kilts!
